The Pendleton Cottage is classically designed for the essence of old fashioned comfort without the feeling of living in the past.
The exterior provides key elements of century old design with contemporary construction and fixtures which incorporate a lavish mix of basalt stone, found on site, with real clinker brick. Timber framing and cedar siding were custom milled to achieve the rustic look along with the Builders custom fabricated iron brackets.
Walking in to the inviting entry you may take comfort on the custom hall tree or
proceed through the round top door into a dramatic great room that offers a
breathtaking view of the Columbia River. There is also a two-sided floor to ceiling
masonry fireplace that echoes the finish from the exterior. The old world style of
the kitchen is sure to please.
The oversized island for prep and entertaining, stainless steel appliances, l
uxurious knotty alder cabinetry and walk in pantry are all highlights in this design.
The plan offers flexibility for different room functions such as a den, office, nursery,
crafts or bedroom. This supple design can accommodate a guest room on the main
floor if stair climbing is a problem, or a handy office or nursery adjacent to the Master suite. The Master bath includes his and hers vanities, an extra large walk in shower and jetted tub. A see through fireplace joins the bath and sleeping areas for a cozy feeling.
You may take advantage of the relaxing view from the bath, bedroom and
private decks.
Upstairs, a bedroom, a flex room and a large bonus room can function however
the home owner wishes. The flex room could be portrayed as a library, fourth bedroom or private office with a balcony over looking the great-room and a spectacular view of the Columbia River. The bonus room is shaped for multiple uses as well, having space for fitness, gaming and a large screen media room.
The artwork in this home was provided by renowned local photographer
Nicholas Carulli M.D. The exemplary furnishings were provided by the Pendleton
Home store from the Pendleton Woolen Mills. To showcase these items we chose
the subtle palette of Devine Color by Miller Paint. The three car garage concludes
the casual design of this cottage. This is a one of a kind. |
