The Arawan, MJ Olson Enterprises entry in the 2004 Parade of Homes, is a lavishly crafted Northwest design.
The three-level structure fits beautifully into its steeply sloped lot. The dramatic drive-through entry on the main level opens to a beautiful curved double stairway with handmade wrought iron railings framing a view of the Columbia River.
On the left side of the entry is a guest suite. On the right is a two-level den/study. Passing between the stairways, you enter a large two-story great room, complete with a view wall to the river.
A large kitchen on the left satisfies the critical needs of the homeowners, who are gourmet cooks and restaurateurs. Past the kitchen is a dining room with a view beyond the covered outdoor dining area.
The lower level has an exercise area, another guest suite, and a storage/work room off the three-car garage. The garage was placed on the lower level to enhance street appeal of the home. Another patio off the exercise area allows access to the rear yard, a hot tub and the putting green.
The upper level includes a large master suite with a stunning third level view of the river and Mount Hood. A short hall gives access to the owners’ fantasy marble bath and shower area. Also on this level is the upper den/study, connected to the lower level study with a small circular stairway.
The Arawan is sure to be a highlight at this year’s Parade of Homes, and will prove to be a spectacular example of master craftsmanship
